Smyrna, Delaware – Delaware’s inaugural bourbon, Diamond State Bourbon Whiskey will be back on shelves Friday,
February 26 at 4:00pm, a short three months after the initial small batch sold out in a record 45 minutes. The first release
took place on Saturday, November 14, 2015, a date which also marked the distillery’s two year anniversary.
After cozily slumbering for a year, the bourbon is scheduled to be dumped from barrels on Thursday, February 18 and
bottled on Monday, February 22. An invitation to attend the bottling was opened to 10 individuals from the public who
were the first to respond to a Facebook post.
Diamond State Bourbon Whiskey is distilled from a mash of 65% corn, 26% rye and 9% malted barley and aged for one
year in 10 gallon new charred American oak barrels. Tasters note flavors of vanilla, toffee, oak, cinnamon and nutmeg in
The upcoming second release is expected to be close to 4 times larger then the first, filling 600+ bottles. It will be
available for purchase on a first come first serve basis at the distillery as well as in select retailers. The bourbon will retail
for $40/bottle with a limit 6 bottles per person.
